The LSIiBBU09 (or iBBU09) Intelligent Battery Backup Unit is primarily used with the LSI MegaRAID SAS 9265, 9266, 9270, 9271, 9285, and 9286 series RAID controllers. It is designed to protect the integrity of the cache memory on these 6Gb/s SAS/SATA controllers in the event of a power failure. You can use it with other controller such as the 9260 if using the remote cable.
